On the occasion of 800 years of the autocephalous status of the Serbian Orthodox Church, a commemorative ceremony was held in Ottawa on November 23, 2019, where members of the church, believers and guests celebrated this significant anniversary with a ceremonial academy and exhibition. The Serbian Centre, organized by the Board of Directors of the Church-School Municipality of St. Stefan, hosted this celebration.
On March 24, 1999, at 19.45 hours, air strikes on Serbia began and on the same night Yugoslavia declared the state of emergency. During the 11 weeks of bombing, about 2,500 civilians were killed, including 79 children, and 1,008 members of the Armed forces of FRY.
On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Serbia, a Cocktail party was organized at the Serbian Cultural Center at the "Church of All Serbian Saints" on March 4th, 2019.
The Reception was supported by the Club of sponsors, which was founded on the initiative of the Serbian Consul General Vasilije Petkovic.
